Like your PC or smartphone, your router needs an update after periodic intervals. To update the firmware, just log in to the web app and search for the ‘Update’ option. If any new update is available, you will find a notification on the screen.

- Downloading speed is poor
This problem is more critical and is not as easy to solve as it sounds because the problem might not be with the router but with the ISP as well. If the size of your house is too large, then it can be a contributing factor to poor internet connectivity. Try moving the router to the next position. If it is not possible, then you can follow the below-mentioned trick.
Try to change the channel of the router because if all the nearby devices are also using the same channel, then this may result in channel congestion and the speed may be racked. To change the channel, go to ‘wireless settings’ from the router home page and click on ‘Channel’. Select the one that is different from the ‘Default’ one.
Try using the 5GHz band if it is available on your router. Almost all the routers these days are coming with dual-band frequencies that offer both 2.4 and 5 GHz connections. If you want high performance, then 5GHz is the best and if you want to get a signal from a distance, then select 2.4 GHz.
